One Tree Fund

Care done carefully.Clinicians trained to do it.

We want Santa Barbara to be known for doing this kind of care carefully: the place a family chooses when someone they love needs it done right. That takes trained clinicians, a therapy partner who has done serious work here for a long time, and care that reaches people who could not otherwise afford it. The One Tree Fund pays for exactly that.

Of your gift to the mission

Our building and its mortgage are funded separately. One Tree Fund gifts go to training and care.

Why this work

The medicine is the easy part. The care around it is everything.

Santa Barbara has a decades-long tradition of quiet, rigorous clinical work in family and trauma therapy, including, in recent years, careful use of ketamine-assisted psychotherapy, with screening and medical oversight, for selected patients.

Whether a treatment changes a life is decided by who is in the room, how they were trained, and what happens before and after. Nobody accredits that. One Tree Institute exists to train it, measure it, and make it the standard, and to put that care within reach of people who could not otherwise afford it.

In September 2026 One Tree Institute bought 1500 Anacapa Street so this work would have a permanent home. The building has its own campaign, funded by invitation. The One Tree Fund is different: it pays for the people and the care, starting now.

Where this work will live

Santa Barbara, inside and out.

Sandstone, iron, wood, plaster, warm light. A sanctuary, not a clinic. Every image below is an artist rendering, not a photo; the architect’s plans will refine each one.

What your gift funds

Three things, in this order. None of them is a wall.

Train

Medical psychotherapists

Exceptional therapists first, then trained, including through supervised experience with the medicines, to keep people safe in non-ordinary states. Your gift funds faculty, supervision, and the standing peer-consultation group every accredited practitioner joins.

Care

Around the medicine

Preparation, the session itself, and the integration that follows: the hours of skilled human work that decide whether a treatment changes a life. One Tree never purchases medicine; gifts fund the care around it, including for people who could not otherwise afford it.

Measure

Outcomes, reported

Every program tracks what happened to the people in it, and we publish the results. Donors see what their money did, in numbers, every year.

Anacapa House: the building campaign

The 1930s house at 1500 Anacapa Street will be the permanent home for training, research, and care. Its build-out is a separate, invitation-based capital campaign with naming opportunities. If you would like to talk about it, write to tony@onetreemedical.org.
